Today Oliver met his Grandpa and his Great Grandma. Patrick was in Houston on a business trip when Oliver arrived. When he finally got home last night visiting hours were over, we had to wait until today. Great Grandma was dressed and ready to go before I had even finished my coffee.

After a short nap Kate and I went back to the hospital and spent the afternoon with Ian, Christy and Oliver.

And baby makes three.

Happy Birthday Oliver!

6 pounds 14 oz 18.5 inches

Christy was amazing. Ian is on cloud nine. I am one happy Grammy!

Momma and baby are both doing well.

I am his Grammy and that makes me biased but I think he is absolutely beautiful!

The room was dimly lit so I had to use the flash. I am hoping to get some pictures in natural light this afternoon when I go back to the hospital.

Summer is over. Fall is my favorite season but this year I am a little sad to see summer go. School has started, bringing with it a new half day schedule for me, Labor Day has come and gone and the past few days have been remarkably cooler. Some of the trees have even begun to change colors. Soon we will have to pack our sandals away and pull out our jackets. I am not ready!

The last First Sunday. I have posted before about First Sunday Annapolis. The first Sunday of the month, May through September, there is an arts fair in downtown Annapolis. This past weekend was the last one until next spring. Labor Day weekend brought with it the unofficial end of summer.

We spent Sunday in Annapolis taking engagement photos of Matt and Kate. I definitely want to re-shoot. The lighting in downtown, especially on the pier, would be much nicer in the evening. The sun wouldn't be behind my subjects. Lesson learned. I also learned that I need a lot more experience working with people. I am use to capturing a moment not directing one. Even with family in a relaxed environment it is hard to get your subjects (and the photographer) to relax. I felt rushed since the streets were very busy. Every time we stopped to take a photo we were blocking traffic on the sidewalks. Here are a few of the shots I felt were acceptable.

The weather has been incredible this week, upper 70's, no humidity and bright blue skies full of big fluffy clouds. I could not imagine being trapped inside on such a day. One of the perks of being a Nanny is that when your handed a beautiful day you can head to the park, so we did.
